Had a pizza with ham and mushrooms. So good. Service was good. Reasonable to buy pizza and share between two of us instead of by the piece. Delicious. Funny that the play all American rock. "Born in the USA" is playing now.

On Rick Steve's recommendation we came here. My daughters Gnocchi in Alfredo sauce was very distinctive. The gnocchi was definitely satisfyingly al dente.
My trancio flat bread with prosciutto arugula and buffalo mozzarella(that's a guess) was good.
Finally, wife was completely satisfied with her porchetta ciabatta sandwich. Playing the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lincoln Park in the background does not hurt.
Considering how close this is to piazza San Marco, I thought the prices were more than fair. -

Here's something I did not know...restaurants in Venice close early! So, I flew in all the way from the US, taking a connecting flight, getting on a water taxi, and finally arrived at the hotel. It was 10:30 and I was hungry. But most places were already closed... Anyhow, I started to walk around and I found this place by the hotel.
It looked like a sports bar with a big screen TV, but I saw some food in the display.
Well, they were still serving hot meals! Ordered a half bottle of Chianti, and got a plate of carbonara...oh yes, I was happy. At that point, I did not care if the pasta was nuked or freshly made. Maybe the food was 3 stars, but I am adding one more star for being open to satisfy my stomach...
